More Springtime Fun!
We love the fun springtime traditions that coincide with the season of Easter. We colored eggs Friday evening--which is always a favorite annual event. We each got to color 7 eggs--yep, I cooked 35 eggs. We don't have too many left...egg salad sandwiches, plain hard boiled eggs, deviled eggs. This is the only time each year that we eat so many eggs. Anyway, the egg hunt took place Saturday morning and the girls received their Easter baskets. They each got some fun treats, a new bathing suit, and a DVD from us and a box of sidewalk chalk to share. Yai Yai (Pam) bought them their lovely new Easter dresses. They fit fabulously and we will take pictures next Sunday as they wear them to church. Grandma & Grandpa Beckert sent darling Easter pillowcases. Grandma & Grandpa Hubrich sent darling little owl journals & $2 bills which were a big hit. The highlight of the weekend was the fabulous General Conference. It was a real feast of spiritual truths and has inspired us to more diligence as we teach our children of the Savior and His Gospel. We all enjoyed hearing the inspired messages. Thank you to our grandparents for the fun and thoughtful gifts!
Let's color some eggs!

Ashley received The Wizard of Oz
The girls received similar style swimsuits. Kylie's is purple overall with hot pink at the top. Ashley's is hot pink like Lizzies but with lime green at the top. They are excited to take them to California!
Let's hunt for easter eggs now!
I found one...
Me too...
Here's another one...

I found the last 12
Kylie created these on her own with her crochet needle & stitches as gifts for Lizzie (the chick in the nest) and for Ashley (the bunny holding the Easter egg). She amazes me with her ability to think and render in 3D!

Elder West and his fierce jackrabbit, Foofie!
We love to decorate bunny cakes as a springtime tradition close to Easter time. Tonight we were happy to have the missionaries as our guests for dinner. We decided to share our tradition of bunny cakes with them. I got a picture of everybody's bunny except for mine, which I did not realize I forgot until after it was eaten. Oh, well! Everybody enjoyed decorating and then eating their bunnies.

A Valentine's Day to Remember...
Happy Valentine's Day!
Ready to dig into fondue!
This is our favorite Valentine's tradition
FONDUE!!!!!
Ken brought me these lovely roses which I arranged for a centerpiece. He wanted the girls to each have one of their own, so they are in separate containers.

We set a lovely table for our feast.
A DVD of "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs"
They were very excited and have already watched it twice!
Still in love after all these years--we are so blessed!

Our little sweethearts!
We celebrated Valentine's Day on Saturday the 13th because our favorite uncle, Uncle Brian, was coming to town for work. We enjoyed about 8 hours together. The girls made puppet shows and funny videos together with Uncle Brian's flip video camera. They had a ball!
Then we opened Valentine's gifts & cards--the girls loved making everybody a special card, especially Uncle Brian. The girls were very excited for the DVD "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" which Grandpa Hubrich sent them.
We enjoyed a fabulous dinner of marinated grilled salmon, heart attack cheesy potatoes, and a salad with avocados and croutons--Yum! Then we watched the girls new DVD and then we had a dessert that we all absolutely loved--CHOCOLATE FONDUE with dippers: graham crackers, marshmellows, bananas, strawberries, and mini creme puffs. Oh, the eating was good!
The day seemed to go by too quickly but we all have very fond memories of our special day together. We love each other soooo much and we love our Uncle Brian!
Hope you all had lovely Valentine's celebrations as well!
