Kylie's class sponsored a Sock Hop as a fundraiser for their Environmental Field Trip at the end of next year. The girls enjoyed dressing up this time. Lizzie especially enjoyed getting mascara, blush, and lip gloss. She wore her "high heels" dress shoes for the occasion. Ashley's lashes are so long and thick that once I put on mascara, they brushed against her glasses. I guess when she is older, she will want an eyelash curler for those mega lashes!

Spring Piano Recital
Kylie and Ashley participated in their piano teacher's Spring Recital, each playing two pieces. They did really well. The teacher is retiring after teaching for 11 years. We hope we have found another good teacher to continue with. We'll know for sure within a month or so. It is fun to see the girls develop their musical talents. :-)
Lizzie is allergic to penicillin!
This is after taking Augmentin.
This is after taking Septra.
Lizzie had a horrible stye under her left eye. They prescribed Augementin for it and after 3 1/2 days of treatment, she broke out in a horrible rash! The next day they changed it to Septra and she broke out again. They decided not to try another medication and see if the stye would clear up from now on its own.

A Blessed Mother's Day
I had the loveliest Mother's Day! Ken is so amazing. He cooked breakfast & cleaned it up. Then we went to church. When we got home he cooked a fabulous dinner, served it on the china (which meant hand washing), cleaned it up, and then made dessert, and cleaned up again. The kitchen was spic and span! I loved the sweet gifts the girls made for me and the cherished feeling all the loving service gave me. I am grateful to be loved and appreciated. Every mother deserves to be treated as well as I was. Luckily, Ken's mom is also in town here with us, and she enjoyed the special treatment, too. Dad Beckert is a little overwhelmed at the precedent Ken has set, now that Mom Beckert has been spoiled for Mother's Day. Good luck topping Ken's feat, Dad B!
