The Girls in their Easter dresses--a week late :-)

We managed to get the girls into their Easter dresses and snap a few pictures before church yesterday. Kylie picked out these Easter outfits last year right after Easter on clearance. Lizzie would only put hers on for the pictures with the promise that she could change before church. So, it may be that her dress is only worn by her for all of 5 minutes! Kids!!!???!! They looked sweet, anyway.

Lizzie's Preschool Trip to Fred Meyer

Lizzie went with her 9 schoolmates from Mrs. Patricia's preschool to visit our local Fred Meyer. They enjoyed looking at the flowers & plants, having a picture taken & printed at the photo counter, enjoyed a chocolate frappacino (spelling?) at the Starbuck's, some cheese at the Deli counter, a cookie and tour of the bakery and looking at the seafood & vegetables. A good time was had by all.

Springtime Fun at the Wolfe's

We love the fun springtime traditions of coloring easter eggs, decorating cakes, and hunting for eggs. Here are a few pictures of our fun Friday evening and Saturday morning. As always, Daddy keeps us all laughing! Unfortunately, Kylie & Lizzie woke up Sunday morning with a cold, so we are waiting til next Sunday to get all dressed up in their new Easter clothes. We had a lovely Easter Sunday, with a wonderful church experience and the blessing of very dear friends joining us in our home for dinner.

Kylie sprained her knee last Tuesday and has spent the week on crutches. She is improving and we hope her crutches will soon be able to be returned.

I especially felt gratitude to our Heavenly Father yesterday, as I reflected on His love for me in sending Jesus Christ to atone for my sins. What joy I feel as I reflect on Jesus Christ's life and His grace which will allow me to keep His commandment to "be perfect". He is what will finish my faith and make me become fit to dwell in the presence of God the Father, and His Son. It makes me want to shout for joy! :-)

Ashley's performance in the 1st-3rd grade school music program

Ashley was picked to play one of 8 "fish kids" in

the school music program "It Sounds a Little Fishy to Me". She was named Bonnie. She remembered all of her lines and really memorized them on her own--we only read through it once with her at home. She enjoyed the spotlight and singing--two of her favorite things. :-)

Reflections on our visit to Salt Lake City

We just returned today from a 4 night/5 day trip to SLC. We had a lot of fun! We loved seeing our Rives family on Saturday, as we made our way into town. We met Nathan's 2nd daughter, Laney for the first time. It was fabulous to see all of Nathan's family and also Natalie's family. We also had a nice visit with Rell & Karla. Many thanks to Steve & Barbara for a lovely lunch and several wonderful hours of visiting! We are blessed to have you in our family. :-)

On Sunday, we attended the 11:30 session of the Draper Temple Dedication. It was a wonderful spiritual feast and we are so grateful we could attend. That afternoon, Mom Beckert & I hosted a surprise 25th wedding anniversary for Kris & Steve (Ken's sister & her husband). The food was fantastic and the company so fun! We met Trevor's cute girlfriend, Cassidy. We enjoyed visiting and playing games.

On Monday, the girls enjoyed a special playdate at Grandma & Grandpa Hubrich's for some train time. They had a ball--thanks for all your work to set it up and take it down and for the yummy dinner. Ken arranged with his mom to take care of the children overnight and whisked me off to the Anniversary Inn for some very needed R&R. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Tucci's Cucina Italiana--fabulous Bruschetta! We enjoyed just being together and having time to talk and relax.

On Tuesday, we enjoyed a fun family gathering with some of our Hubrich family who love and appreciate us the most. We had lots of fun and were very excited to hear Dan & Becca's news of a new baby in the fall--CONGRATULATIONS! You are such great parents and we hope all will go well with the pregnancy!

Tender Mercies of the Lord

Yesterday was a very difficult day for me. I began my day with a very personal attack in my email inbox. My initial feeling was anger. Immediately after reading & responding to this email, I walked back out to finish getting my precious daughters ready to go off to school. Part of our morning ritual is reading scriptures together. I opened our New Testament to 2 Corinthians 4 and began reading where we had left off on Wednesday. The first two verses and the last two verses of our daily scripture study spoke to my heart and immediately removed my anger and replaced it with comfort and the love of the Lord. I wanted to share what has been so meaningful to me--I went back and reread it several times throughout the day yesterday.
2 Corinthians 4: 8-9; 17-18
"We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed, we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed...For our light affliction, which is but for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
I know the Lord looks on my heart. I will stand steadfast and immovable in my faith. I have no fear of the final judgment, rather a perfect brightness of hope of eternal life. I know in whom I have trusted. I know that the Lord knows He can depend on me. I will not let him down. I am forever grateful for His tender mercies. He strengthens me in my weaknesses and comforts me in my sorrows. How I love the Lord, Jesus Christ!
